Did you hear the one about paypal holding *your* funds for 21 days?

Link This could (and knowing ebay, will) apply to anything you're selling. THEY would much rather collect the interest for thrre weeks on YOUR money, it has NOTHING to do with security or buyer satisfaction or seller performance... it's about $$$, as ebay always is now. Absolutely insane.... the madness is completely out of control. So, so sad to see them go in this direction after 10 years.

SELLERS BEWARE

Well folks , I knew it , and I know you all did , this ebay feedback ruling sucks , and has left us all out in the open , and a lot of sellers are leaving because of it . After 583 perfect transactions , I have my first mental case buyer . Guess what ? the very first thing out of this guys mouth was demands , and a reminder of the new ebay rules on feedback . So he simply lied about the condition of the goods , I have my very first negitive feedbck , a dispute , my first filed against me with pay pal . It seems this does not matter to ebay security , or Pay Pal for that matter . We are going to start getting a fllod of these new buyers who can make demands , threats , and hurt established seller , because there is now no recourse against them . With ebays fees , this rediculious feedback rule , and pay pal increases , ebay is no loner fun , and certinally not profitable . Wonder if Ebay knows how many seller will leave now , remember no established seller , no trusted buyers .

Why nail fungus should be treated with care?

1. Nail fungus is extremely contagious. Therefore, it can spread and contaminate your other nails which are currently still healthy. On top of that, if you share a nail clipper, a nail file or any other tool or item that touches your infected nail, others that live with you are at a very high risk for contracting the disease. 2. Nail fungus can cause your nails to become embedded into the surrounding skin. If this happens, major, painful surgery is necessary to restore the affected nail. 3. The Nail fungus can cause a nail to decay and fall off. This causes the sensitive tissue underneath to be exposed and will usually cause tremendous pain. Knowing this it

Dear All: In case those of you who oppose the government takeover of our health care system as strongly as I do have not yet added your name to the 1.2 million or more signers on the attached petition, I am providing the link below: Link. This petition will be delivered to Washington DC on Wednesday at 2 PM Eastern time. I think it has already broken the record for the largest petition in history. There are many wonderful ideas for health care reform and many logical and practical objections to Obama-care. For ideas and talking points that don't get aired on the networks, which in many cases prefer to air pundits and Democratic leaders unsupported assertions that Conservatives and Republicans (two distinctly different groups) are only obstructing "progress" and offering no ideas of their own, these are two links to think tanks with a wealth of information: Link Link It has been a great pleasure to watch the citizens of our country rally against this 1000 page health care albatross that would have added trillions to the deficit and handed management of our health care system over to the same government (Republicans and Democrats alike) that has taken Social Security and Medicaire to the brink of bankruptcy. Anyone who wonders what agenda motivates President Obama need only look at the people he learned from, hung out with in the years before he came under public and (especially) presidential candidate scrutiny, and is now surrounding himself with including the dozens of czars to whom he is giving a powerful forum. Van Jones (good riddance) is but the tip of that iceberg. I wrote the night of the election that, in effect, I was proud that we had elected a black president and that I would give my new president time to demonstrate that his would be the most open administration in history as he said and that he is not the recently-closeted radical that my scrutiny of his history and words indicated to me he was likely to be. Time's up. His is not an open administration. Major bills, such as the 768 billion dollar stimulus plan rammed through in days, are not being posted on the Internet for citizen review and comment prior to (in this case 3 AM) votes as promised. (The excuse/promise made by the president on this bill was that, without its immediate passage, unemployment would rise to 10%. With it, unemployment would not rise above 8%. Anybody check unemployment numbers lately?). President Obama has spent over 1.5 million dollars in legal fees to block the release of his own school, health, passport and birth records. Certainly not an example of openness, and contrary to the pattern and practice of prior presidents and candidates. Of course, far more important than another broken campaign promise is the question of why. I could go on about openness.... President Obama is not being honest about his agenda on health care. He made quite clear in a (2005?) interview that he is a supporter of single-payer (meaning government-run) health care but stated even then that we could not get there directly, we would have to get there in steps over time. Why is he not admitting where he would really like to go? Because he knows that only the radical left would follow him there and there are not enough of them to keep him in power. I could also go on about radical agendas and the radical people the president is placing in positions of power. I could write all day about the damage already done by creating more future debt in the first six months of the Obama presidency than all prior presidents combined. But, today's hot topic was health care and the petition going in on Wednesday. Sorry for any digression. I wonder how much coverage, if any, will be provided on the networks regarding the petition on Wednesday prior to the president's health care speech to Congress on Wednesday night? Please sign and pass along if you agree that the current path for health care reform is the wrong one. By my daughter, who aspires to be a photograher!

Worried About Ebay's Future

I have bought and even sold some over the last few years so I believe I can speak with some authority. Ebay use to be a great bargain, especially for buyers. I no longer think that. There has been a steady price creep to the point where I want to buy be now just watch the item and never follow through with a sale. Often I have to ask myself if I can get the product cheaper locally. That coupled with high shipping cost is really hurt all concerned. I mainly shop for jeans, belts, boots etc. and the cost are as high or higher than my local thrift store that is booming. My wife still finds good buys in children's clothing but good categories are hard to find. I don't know what Ebay can do about it except perhaps set up express sites where sellers just want to get rid for something and are not trying to make a living from it. I don't see how this would be fair to the seller communities as a whole though. Just my two cents.

Where have all the sellers gone?

Hi Folks. I've been selling on eBay for 10 years, but it's just in this past year that I've been actively and aggressively buying, both scientific and surveying equipment. Things were clipping right along until about a month ago. Then, suddenly, the categories in which I buy (laboratory and surveying equipment) dried up. Where there used to be a dozen or more listings, now there are just 2 or 3, and I haven't made a single purchase in 4 weeks. My question is, why have the sellers in my categories stopped selling? Is there something going on with eBay? Are the sellers leaving eBay for another auction site? Are they holding their wares off eBay until the economy improves? Or is this just a seasonal thing? Is selling always slow in August, and if so, when does it typically pick up again?

ebay buying suggestions

I do not know who is the bright light at Ebay that immagine that one if you buy a toaster for a couples of days they show you when you open Ebay toaster, I bought one I do not need to see toaster or nailer or any other items I just bought as a suggestion to buy. This is completely stupid if I already bought I do not need to buy anymore. At least they should suggest thing that complement your purchase ex: you buy an air nailer they could suggest brads, you buy pots and pan they could suggest knives . I do not know if anyone at Ebay read these if they do hopefully they will remove the stupid suggestions.

BEWARE OF THE COOKIE LADY, *EBAY ID, rdvigue, SHE BURN'T ME

I've only been a member on ebay for about 5 months and recently I purchased a handbag, I asked the seller if she would consider lowering the price a little and doing a buy it now. She (RDVIGUE) agreed and ended the listing early and sent me a request for payment via paypal. Not knowing the difference, I paid, I got the bag, it was not as she described, so I sent it back with insurance and delivery comfirmation. I sent her several messages requesting my refund after I was sure it had been delivered. Finally 3 days later she answered saying she did not receive the bag back, I sent her the proof that it had been delivered and then the game started ! First she said she had been sick and rudely asked what I wanted, of course I said a refund, then in another message, that's when she claimed she never got it, i let her know that messing with the government(post office) is risky business and then she said that maybe it went to her daughters house, what address did I ship it to, Unbelievable, and of course the worst part is that she made the sale off ebay, saved herself the selling fees, and now of course I'm not covered by paypal because it wasn't the actual listing that she sent the invoice for. I put in a claim at the post office because it was insured and after checking their computer, they said they have no doubt that she received the bag and was lying about it. So I have to sit back and wait while they do their thing, in the meantime, I'm out almost $200 !! And you know the funny thing is that the VERY SAME HANDBAG THAT I RETURNED GOT LISTED FOR SALE THE NEXT DAY AFTER DELIVERY, ISN'T THAT INTERESTING, I don't know how people like her sleep at night, but I'm not the type of person to just let it go. Does anyone have any advice or has been through this same problem that can guide me?? unfortunately because it wasn't an actual live listing, I can't leave the important feedback to warn others not to fall into the same trap !! So I guess this is about as close as I can get to let others know what she does. PLEASE ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE, I HOPE THE POST OFFICE GETS HER FOR MAIL FRAUD !!

Please help me de-clutter TODAY!!!!

This is my first day ever on these discussion boards and was hoping I might find either: a) encouragement, or b) like-minded persons wanting to tackle the same problem I have been an eBay buyer for about 6 years now, always with the intention of selling one day in order to lessen the clutter in my house. Well, I still haven't listed one item yet! My obsticals are: 1) These things have too much sentimental value 2) The "I can probably use this somday" excuse 3) I just don't know where to start! Clutter has made the enjoyability of my treasured items in a lot of cases impossible. I can't tell you how much money I've wasted only beacause I've had to "re-buy" items I already have, but just can't locate them. I am hoping today will be the first day of the rest of my life. Can anyone out there give me the encouragement to help me get out of the "deer in headlights" mode I'm living in? Is there anyone out there who wants to make this life-change with me? Funny thing is that everyone who knows me sees me as such well-organized, well put-together person. They don't know my dirty little secret ---- don't EVEN open a closet, drawer, cabinet, and most embarassing of all, my garage and dining room (of course, closed off). What is really scaring me is that this disorganization is slowly creeping into my day-to day life. Laundry and paperwork is not getting taken care of as swiftly as it used to be done, so I need to change now!!!! Dreaming of an organized life, goldensrock

Problems with EBay

The source of every single problem on Ebay is simple and has actually existed in various forms since the beginning of civilization. Those in charge are completely out of touch and have absolutely no idea or comprehension of the purpose of this website, or the actual needs and wants of its members. The executives who make the decisions have no clue as to what type of business they are running or the motivations of why people even join EBAY. Broken down here is what I see. 1) The executives have a completely different definition of a market place than members. These executives are wealthy people. They dont understand that many people join EBAY to find bargains or cheaper prices for desired items because that is the only way they can afford such items. They dont have a grasp that to some people $20 is a great deal of money and such a difference in price has an effect on the decision to purchase. The execs have instituted policies regarding shipping time and buyer satisfaction because to them that is what is important. If these policies drive away sellers so be it because according to what we believe is important they dont cut the mustard. They dont see that the buyers experience is not improved if they can no longer purchase items because the sellers who offerred these items within the price range which they could afford are gone. In short they have placed a definition of satisfaction that is not applicable to those they are dealing with. I offer this analogy ask these executives what they want in an automobile, they will likely say performance or horsepower, maybe even gas mileage. Ask them what they feel others view as being most important and they may say the same thing. They do not comprehend that a great many people only want a car that will start because they need to get to work. They will not step outside the box in which they live to see that everyone is not living in the same world as them. 2) These executives are using their business experience and applying the principles they are familiar with to situtions which such business practices are not applicable. Case in point buyer protection. These executives dont think that Ebay is free of frauds and cheats- they simply believe that sellers automatically take the Wal Mart-Target-Sears-Macy's approach of incorporating anticipated theft or loss into projections and budgets and view it as a cost of doing business. They dont understand that many can't and dont operate that way and cant afford to be swindled. This leads to the loss of sellers leading to a loss of buyers discussed in point one. 3) These executives forget and have no experience in dealing with people as they rely on customer service department models of other companies and industries. Insurance companies, cable companies, phone companies, utility companies all provide services that we have come to rely on and can't go without. There are other options and companies but they are all similar and operate the same way. The executives running Ebay dont understand that if fed up people will just stop using it. Ebay has a customer base that can simply walk away. They dont comprehend that a normal person, if made angry because they are mistreated will simply walk away. These executives are not used to and do not understand how to deal with normal regular people who are the majority of the members of EBAY, and who are not at the mercy of a company providing services that are essential to daily life. I dont think EBAY is just a greedy corporation. I think that member satisfaction both buyer and seller is very important to these executives and they want everyone to have the best experience possible. I dont think there is a plan to drive out the small seller because they think this will increase profits. Those in charge are just simply out of touch and have no clue how to manage the company in which they are in charge. They think increased listing fees that allow for what they see as "improvements" will lead to increased sales for sellers. They are not selling items so they dont see the negative ramifications first hand. They are trying to put in place business models that have worked in the past and have completely missed the point that Ebay's success came from the fact it was like nothing that had been seen before. They are breaking the most basic rule and that is they are trying to put the square peg in the round hole. I would like to challenge the EBay hierarchy to something. Pick a V.P. or two and send them home for two months. Give them a large lot of items and tell them for the next two months it is your job to sell these on EBay. That is it just sell these items, list them and sell them within a normal budget. Then have these VP's write a report as to their experiences and see if the policies in place make sense and achieve the designed outcome. For those who say that profits are up- you may be correct- the more people who use Ebay the more likely profits will rise. Rising profits does not mean these executives are doing a good or even adequate job because in order for a business to be truly successful those in charge must maximize profits. The point f any business is not to simply make money it is to make the most money you can.

This is jinxed, either MJ or me

I can't believe it! The day Michael Jackson died I bought a DVD - Number Ones with a BIN. I paid for it right away and days later was told by the seller they did not have it. Finally got my money refunded. I found another seller and bought the DVD from them on a BIN. Paid for it and the same thing happened again - they informed me they did not have it in stock, however I noticed they put up a quantity of 100 of the same DVD days later at a higher price. Again I had to get my money back. Third time, I thought, I would be lucky. Yesterday I found another seller with a quantity on thedvd so I bought one on a buy it now for $10.50 and paid for it. Today I get an email from Ebay saying they cancelled the auction (and all of his others too) for any one of three reasons. No trace of the item on Ebay now or even that I bought it except for my Paypal payment. Seller is no longer a registered user. Couldn't even leave f/backc I guess. Ebay is so sorry but if the seller corrects whatever he did wrong, maybe I would like to bid again??Hello, I didn't bid, I bought it on a BIN and paid for it. Do they even care? What now?

Where did it go, feedback button on listing pages is gone. Why, I like to see feedback before I purchase an item, yes I know I can click on the sellers number beside there name and feedback will come up but these changes are driving me nuts. Maybe I;m just getting old but seem's to be getting more confusioning with every change.Just like the changes to these boards I miss the older boards, they were easier to post and find what you needed, shoot this posting is most likely in the wrong place too, hope no one will be upset, just needed to vent. well guess I'll go shopping if they haven't moved, changed or hid the listings as well.

Are sellers suppose to retract my bid and close the auction?

An item I was bidding on was closed and the seller retracted my bid. I've never had that happen. Is this something sellers are allowed to do? The item was ending tomorrow evening. This is the second time in two weeks this has happened. One I was watching, but this one I had bid on. I'm thinking they closed the auction for a deal made off e-bay.

What about a stumbleupon-like search on ebay

Maybe a new type of random search like "STUMBLEUPON" on ebay. I would love to randomly see what is on ebay! It would be fun and profitable for the sellers and buyers. Say with just the big search headings, - home and garden, -computers and networking, etc. All results random and equal, I think it would be fun! Push a button -see a listing! Maybe call it "Crusin the Bay!". It would be a lot more traffic equally divided among everybody, more listings, the more chance of a hit Reply|Reply with Quote

Question about Listing fees

Good morning, I have bought on eBay for a couple of years, but sold only a few months.I have made quite a few sales on my items, but am finding I pay about 70% of those revenues in listing fees, listing and re-listing. Getting the feeling that I am not quite doing this right (last month my fees bill was nearly $100). Have asked eBay, but they refer me to other sellers. Does anyone have any advice for me? I would really appreciate it, as I am reluctant to post any more listings, for fear of paying most of earnings in fees. Many thanks, Gabriella

10% Holdback fee in PayPal

I just noticed that the last Item I sold had 10% held out for 90 days. Not a big deal, except now Paypal/Ebay will make money off of the money during these 90 days. Shouldn't they pay us interest on it? Also, I didn't know this was going to happen. Did I miss something? This is really starting to piss me off, with all these changes, it's almost like Congress is running EBay. Any feedback would be helpful. I am so disgusted. I called and closed out my account with ebay 2 months ago, and here we are low and behold still in the system. Not only that, but my MC is still being billed $4.60 per month. New feedback system as a buyer is bad.

So Ive won alot of items lately and I get them fine but the sellers wont leave me feedback unless I do it first. As a seller they are supposed to leave me feedback based on whether or not I pay on time and in the way their auction states (such as form of payment), which technically should be left by them soon as they get my payment. Now none of them will respond to me until I leave feedback first all because they are afraid Ill leave them a negative and they cant do anything but give me a positive or none at all. Ebay you need to go back to the old system, this way is totally unfair to both parties, especially the seller since now if the buyer goes bad they cant do anything to warn them to others. So what if the buyer can leave honest feedback, now the seller cant leave honest feedback unless its positive feedback.

When a seller leaves eBay....

so does a very good buyer because they are one and the same. Most of us spend a lot of our selling dollars buying stuff on eBay. It does not take a genius to figure out that a lot of eBay sellers are upset with the new format and other changes....especially the corporate micro-management tactics eBay is using with the DSR ratings and 'seller dashboard' feature. I see a lot of people complaining here in the forums and elsewhere about sales being down. Part of it is the economy. Another part is the time of year (the Summer slump). But I submit that another part is upset sellers who are also buyers. It is hard to spend and buy when you dislike the way you are being treated on the selling end.

NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK B/S

I think it's irresponsible that Ebay does not allow you to leave so-called "negative" feedback, even when you are screwed over by a seller. I for one will never ever purchase through ebay again. I had an open dispute with a seller and left semi-negative feedback and Ebay marked my account for leaving it. i'm sorry but if you are a sarcastic and irresponsible seller...just because you have a 98% positive feedback obviously doesn't mean you are reputable...especially if Ebay is helping you seem legitimate...by removing your negative feedback...this is total b/s

Bid Cancellation Complaint

I posted a bid on a doll that was listed at a starting bid of .49. Yes, I realize that that is a very low starting price but midnite650 set the bid not me. Less than a day before auction end I received an email from ebay stating that my bid has been cancelled. No explanation was given by ebay or midnite650 for this action. I can only assume that it is because of the low starting bid put in place by midnite650 and regrets concerning it. So now am I to assume that any time that a seller is a poor loser that I have to be concerned about having my bid cancelled? In this economy I intend to go for any bargain that I can find. If the sellers do not like that attitude then perhaps they're in the wrong business. What is worse is that my bid has been removed and the auction pulled so now I cannot post negative feedback and believe me I'm itching to do so. I'm sure that I will hear all kinds of excuses for this seller's action but bottom line it was still a lousy thing to do. And ebay allowed it to happen so they are just as much at fault. So my warning to the buyers on ebay is this....don't place a bid with midnite650 and beware of any seller that you are not familiar with. Since negative feedback cannot be posted to these people you won't know who they are until it's too late. I will be cancelling my account with ebay.

EBARF DSR RATINGS TOTALLY UNFAIR

I know this has been kicked around for some time before but I just had my account restricted from selling for 30 FRIGGIN DAYS because my DSR dropped below the allowed 4.1....I called ebay and they said that my rating is now up to 4.3 which is ok as far as they are concerned but because it dropped below the allowed 4.1 (which by the way just happened in the last 12 hours) I must wait the 30 day period, THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT!!!! Yes I know I have some (4) NEG feedbacks but they are all from International buyers and they have all received their item just did not remove the feedback... I cannot believe that ebarf is doing this to the sellers, I pay them good money each month for the use of the site and I feel they are just cutting their throat. I asked them WHY we as sellers cannot see the ratings that are left by the buyer to see how they felt about the transaction, and they told me it was confidential information...I SAY BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you noticed that ebay auction sales way down?

Hello, I have been looking to sell some items on ebay and it just seems like hardly anything is selling! Have you notice the same thing? Is it just the bad economy or summer time people are busy? Or both? I know it depends on what you sell but even rare and hard to find item don't seem to sell either! What do you think? Thank you

Has anybody seen this seller once, or could somebody find him ? (please understand i'm not looking for hair cutting courses, i'm only trying to find back this specific seller)

Ebay is fast becoming a beached whale!

As an online flea market ebay was a great concept, but as it has become top heavy with college wiz kids the focus seems to be on changing Ebay into the very thing it was designed to compete against. There is a old saying " too many cooks spoil the broth " Just as you are adjusting to one backward change another new guy comes out of no where who wants to make his or her mark on ebay and broad sides you with another senseless backward change. People are complaining about not making money on Ebay. Some say its the economy but that is not completely true. Maybe a small percentage but not the bulk. Ebay is loosing sellers left and right and along with sellers buyers, Why? 1. New feedback rules which allow a new member to ruin a sellers perfect feedback. 2. Denying a seller performance discounts with non verifiable DSR ratings. 3. Jacking up the FVFs 4. Prohibiting Checks, and Money orders. 5. Best match 6. Almost demanding sellers offer free shipping. 7. Form letter responses to every problem when in reality many problems are unique to the seller. 8. Protecting buyers from negative feedback they deserve. 9. Constantly hiring over paid inexperienced people to run Ebay who have no experience in actually selling on ebay and the problems sellers are faced with. 10. Always siding with the Buyers when the buyer cannot always be right. 11. A 5 star DSR rating system which is suspect at best because no one truly believes its the buyer who leaves these ratings and 4 stars is rated as poor peformance. 12. Absoulutely no seller protection on any issue that where the seller believes its competitors are involved in buying and leaving bad feedback. There seems to be no coherent system in place for Ebay members to be involved in the changes being made. I have emailed ebay with my concerns only to get either no response or a form letter response. I have given up on hopes of Ebay getting better and have focused on the hope of a new online flea market coming in to existance that will ultimately make Ebay just a bad memory of a sour taste in the mouths of so many people who depended on Ebay to make a living. I symphatise with those who relied solely on ebay for a living, but this is the time when they should begin to realize that Ebay has no loyalty to its sellers and Its on a steep down hill slide. Sellers should begin to look elsewhere for a vehicle to sell their merchandise, including creating their own web sites. The handwriting is on the wall and Ebays days are numbered. I say no better for them. Thats what you get for being stupid.

ebay telephone number???

Have you ever tried to find the phone # for ebay? The help page says: "Members can reach us by email, phone, and live chat. If you will tell us something about your issue, we can recommend the best method for you." After waiting FOUR days for an answer to an issue, sending followups and getting email in return that said, "We really care....(standard bs) ...etc. We will reply in 24 to 48 hours.", I tried. I searched and couldn't find it, so I finally just logged on to live chat and asked for it. Simple right? Nope. They won't hand it out. But, I said, the help page says, "Members can reach us by email, phone, and live chat. " I found this protective attitude strange, since ebay has a very liberal, one could say loose regard for the private numbers of the members. If you're a buyer or seller, you simply have to ask ebay and they'll give you the other party's number, no questions asked. The first level attendant said, " Believe me if I had it to hand out I'd give it to you".I finally had to ask for a supervisor who after much more discussion, reluctantly gave me the number, however it comes with a PIN that expires if you don't call right away. It's all outsourced anyway, so I found it as great a waste of time talking to the people on the phone, as it was talking to the live chat and sending email. BTW, I'm STILL waiting for a response to a question about FB abuse that I emailed August 20 @ 09:24 AM. EDT "Your question is very important to us and will be treated with our full attention. We understand the need to get your question answered quickly, and in most circumstances we do so within 24 to 36 hours. However, there may be times when it will take up to 72 hours for you to receive a response. To speed up the process, we ask that you do not send in multiple messages about the same issue. " REALLY?? It's now been over 96 hours. Don't call us we'll call you.

WE NEED BETTER PAYMENT OPTIONS

Hello, You have to do something about reinstating checks and money orders for general items. Its ridiculous that normal economy payments for normal items is not accepted no matter how much you evoke the "lets protect the community" rule. I can go to my local store and use either choice of fiduciary instruments with little or no recourse for the local businessman. All my customers want to be able to know they can use a money order or check to pay. Accepting these instruments of payment carries an acceptable and marginal risk on any businessman for minor, everyday transactions. To negate these options when the general public is willing to take such risks only serves to hinder business and reduce your fees. Already users are navigating around these rules in seripticious ways from the auctions I am seeing. Expand the community without knee-jerk reactions to the smallest problems on eBay.

Wondering How Real Estate Purchasers fare in long run

Hi, I was wondering if any of you have purchased low cost houses off of ebay, such as the 'no payments, bid and you bought the house' auctions. If you bought a house for under 10k on here (mainly the fixer uppers), what was your experience? Were you able to fix it up and turn a profit? What problems did you encounter? Were there things the sellers didn't mention (like you can't leave the home on the property, or the city is demolishing it?) Any paperwork problems? What about these quit claim deeds? Has anyone ever issued a quit claim deed to you and not had a claim to the home in the first place to quit? Mainly interested in long-term profits on crappy looking homes. What areas of the country were you successful with? I'm in Ohio, and there are many Dayton, Toledo, Cleveland, and Youngstown homes for sale cheap, but not sure about cheap houses in bad areas. Do you make anything on those bids or do people ransack and burn down your houses? Thanks for any info you can share. I appreciate it. Sincerely, Sarah T.

A New One

Dealing with the public sooner or later you will see it all. This is a ncw one on me, however. I had an item on eBay end Sunday night. When I sent the invoice the shipping address was Wisconsin, USA. I was paid thru PayPal on Tuesday and the address was a country in Eastern Europe. I went back to the invoice and the address had been changed there also. Evidently the buyer changed addresses on me after the item ended and before they made their PayPal payment. It was a small item and the postage was not a great difference (Less than $2.00) so I bit the bullet and shipped anyway. Does eBay have a policy for such things? I wonder.

Return problems...

I bought a cell phone from a vendor on ebay and when we received the phone it did not work. I contacted the vendor through e-bay 3 times to try to get the issue resolved and he did not respond to me until I gave him a negative rating. I stupidly withdrew my rating when he promised to resolve my problems when he saw the neg rating. I went back and forth withthe guy doing what he asked me to do to resolve the problem and finally he sent me a return form to send it back. I sent it back and according to the USPS he received it over 8 days ago and has not acknowledged that he received it and is asking for a tracking number. The bottom line is I will not do business with this vendor again but would like to submit another either negative rating or let others know what kind of service I am getting. What I don't understand is how so many others have given him a positive rating and I am getting the run around. Is there another way to voice my dissatisfaction? I spent over $100.00 and this should not be happening.

Someone swiped and is using my listing photo

I am fairly new as a seller on eBay, and have only one item that I have ever sold, in the past few months, which is the discontinued McCormick Salt n Spice seasoning. I take my photos with my cellphone, with the bottles sitting on a wooden ledge of my old 1950 house, a ledge that runs all the way through my house [see listing 320205355784] . For some reason my photos always come out with a blue-ish cast to them, but they do unintentionally set my listings apart from others. I just happened to look at my competitors listings today, and saw that another seller had swiped my weird blue cellphone photo, and put it on their own listing 260204629740. Also, check out their My Profile, and About Me page, not that its really important or pertinent. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? Perhaps I am being overly sensitive about this, but I find it extremely rude that someone would do this. Jen

FIXING THE FEEDBACK PROBLEM

This is a posting ID. I have two IDs with stores both powerseller level... This is a long post but I think I have some good ideas, so please read it through! I have a 99% rating in both of my stores here. Which I work very hard to maintain. I have been selling on amazon for over a year and I have noticed that sales there have been skyrocketing in the last few months while ebay sales have been stagnating. The problem with amazon is that it is only good for certain types of items, and you can't sell rare and collectible items there as easily. On amazon the buyer can only leave feedback based on a star system (1-5 stars rating the seller overall, not on individual characteristics.) Sellers can leave no feedback for buyers at all. I am one of the few sellers who actually have a 5 star (100%) rating on amazon, most are 4.9 or less. I work hard for it just like I do for my ebay feedback. So why should buyers receive any feedback at all here? Right now I can go and spend $10 on eBooks and have 1000 positive feedbacks and be ready to sell the Brooklyn bridge to the highest bidder. With the new rules ($1 minimum bids) it will cost a bit more to buy feedback, but it is still a major problem. Feedback should only be for sellers, to show that they have completed many transactions and can be trusted. By giving buyers any feedback you are opening the door to massive fraud. If someone wants to start selling on ebay they should have to start small like all of us did and not be able to buy their way in. Ebay should remove all feedback "as a buyer" and move to a star only system. That way buyers will be unable to engage in any defamation, and can simply rate the seller how they truly feel they preformed. This will also make it so that the seller cannot see who left which feedback since it is all averaged together, so this will make it even more accurate. The 7 day repeating feedback is a bad idea. It will only facilitate scammers that have "feedback farms" where they have a pool of user ids with which they sell items to themself at the lowest price allowed. This makes it so they need less IDs to do this and can just keep doing it every week. Ebay needs to require some accountably for the buyers. On amazon they can't buy until the user puts in their credit card. eBay should have some way of verifying users so that people can't create new accounts so easily after being kicked off. I know this is a difficult problem, because it is all to easy to get a new credit card, or email or mailing address (P.O. box) but there must be a way! It's not so easy to legally change your name! Drivers License #s could work well too! If ebay does go through with the proposed changes as stated, I will be emailing all buyers (as soon as payment is received not before) and explaining to them that inappropriate negative feedback will be considered defamation of character and will result in a lawsuit for which they will have to travel to California. I may also include a letter in the box. Lets see how that inspires them to have massive confidence in ebay! I have had a few threats from buyers over the years (less than 1% of buyers but it tends to be on the highest priced items) and feedback or withdrawal is the only thing that has kept them tarnishing my near perfect record. Now the threat of lawsuits seems like the best method to keep scammers and con artists at bay. I also have my own informational website which gets almost as much traffic as my ebay listing have been. I'm definitely looking into moving many of my items exclusively to my website and closing my store due to the store price increases. I'll still run some auctions, but many less. Of course I'll be using google checkout and not paypal on my website, because ebay doesn't seem to care about it's sellers or it would have already responded to these problems with action, rather than just having Griff tell us everythings gunna be OK. The more money I can keep out of GreedBay's hands the better. Is $10 BILLION in profit for one year not enough!? The executives who make millions from this company DO NOT work as hard as I do and I can barely pay the rent on my small apartment which is filled with ebay items! If they want to keep making profit they have to share some of it with the workers or there will be no more eBay! I will be withdrawing my paypal balance on the 20th as a protest and I would suggest that everyone else do the same. Why should ebay be earning even more interest on my hard earned money? Just so I can get %1 back when? I can use a credit card and get a higher % back and still have my money earning interest in the bank till I pay the card each month. TAKE ALL OF YOUR MONEY OUT OF PAYPAL! Lets see how they like it when they unexpectedly lose a major portion of their income! Just like we all will with these new fee changes. I will also be participating in the general strike from the 18th-25 by not listing or buying anything on ebay and hope that you will be too. I will run several .01 cent listings on the 19th explaining why I am striking and hope many sellers will do the same. Thanks for reading my ramblings. It felt good to get that off my chest, but the battle has only just begun! Spread the word! "email the seller" to get more people involved!

Ebay listings plummeting

This should warm the hearts of those of us who are ripped over Ebay's screw the seller attitude, according to the site that posts hourly day to day comparisons of listings (powersellersunite dot com/auctionsitewatch dot php), their listings have been decreasing day by day. Look at today's numbers compared to yesterday: eBay 12,769,369 -226222 -1.77% February 4, 2008 That is two hundred and twenty six THOUSAND fewer listings. It has been progressively getting worse day by day for them since the announcement.

EBay rivals circle vulnerable auctions kingpin Sellers fleeing eBay are flocking to a crop of upstarts. EMAIL | PRINT | DIGG | RSS Subscribe to Top Stories feed://rss.cnn.com/rss/money_topstories.rss Paste this link into your favorite RSS desktop reader See all CNNMoney.com RSS FEEDS (close) By Lenora Chu February 6 2008: 10:56 AM EST More from FSB Bear Naked ambition EBay rivals circle vulnerable Goliath How to value your business Current Issue (FORTUNE Small Business) -- In the online auction space, "eBay" is a verb. Since launching in 1995, eBay (EBAY, Fortune 500) has been the online marketplace for people seeking to unload or pick up anything and everything. But a week after eBay announced massive changes to its fee structure and its vaunted feedback policy, competitors say the behemoth seems suddenly vulnerable. Outraged sellers have begun seeking new outlets to hawk their products, and alternative marketplaces are seeing significant jumps in new-user registrations. OnlineAuction.com, based in Grants Pass, Ore., reports that roughly 7,500 new sellers have opened accounts since eBay announced its new policies last week. That's a 15% jump in the site's user base, within a matter of days. "eBay has dropped the ball, and there's a huge window of opportunity," said OnlineAuction CEO Chris Fain. Another contender, eCrater, has registered 1,400 new sellers within the last few days. That's more than double the site's average weekly total. "They call and introduce themselves as eBay refugees," said eCrater founder Dimitar Slavov. Creators of eBay alternatives say their time has come. "People are seeing the light, and it's very exciting," said OnlineAuction's Fain, who is a former eBay "PowerSeller," eBay's designation for its highest-volume sellers. EBay fee hike sparks seller rebellion Fain's sales of vintage watches and specialty cars reached $1 million a year on eBay, but he became disenfranchised with the company's steady rate increases. "I was paying eBay $7,000 to $8,000 a month in fees," said Fain, who launched OnlineAuction in 1998 but continued selling on eBay until 2005. "They were taking too big a piece of my bottom line." While eBay charges sellers a percentage of an item's final sale price, OnlineAuction refrains from taking a cut. Instead, it allows vendors to list as many items as they want for a flat membership fee levied on a monthly or yearly basis. "We're the Costco (COST, Fortune 500) of online auctions," Fain said. Should OnlineAuction reach the 250 million-strong user base that eBay currently holds, the company could be "six times more profitable without being as greedy," Fain claims. He estimates that 85% of OnlineAuction's sellers are eBay defectors. The site now has 50,000 sellers, with more than 11 million items currently listed. That's still a mere fraction of eBay's 113 million items, Fain admits. "Because eBay is such a huge entity, it's hard to compete unless you get the people behind you," Fain said. "But that's what's happening right now." Sellers seek alternatives Part-time vendor David Cox is one of those people. Last week, he concluded a 10-year run selling computer accessories on eBay and opened an $8-a-month account with OnlineAuction. Cox, of Marble Falls, Ark., said his new home reminds him of eBay's early days. "I feel they will be more responsible to me as the seller," Cox said. "It certainly won't have the market that eBay does now, but I'm positive in time buyers will migrate to other sites." Cox plans to also check out eCrater, which allows sellers to use its marketplace free of charge. ECrater founder Slavov said vendors will never be asked to pay anything. "There are too many fees on eBay and Amazon," said Slavov, a software developer who launched eCrater in 2004. eCrater, based in Irvine, Calif., turns a profit by charging vendors for premium positions, selling Internet advertising and partnering with Google Checkout. ECrater now has 33,000 active sellers and lists nearly 1 million items, according to Slavov. Another upstart attracting attention from fleeing eBayers, San Francisco's iOffer, is built around a focus on friendly engagement between buyers and sellers. In lieu of using an auction format, iOffer has sellers state a starting price or ask buyers to make an offer. Both parties negotiate until they're satisfied. "Overall, I'd say sellers like being more interactive," said iOffer CEO Ryan Boyce. "There's more flexibility, and you can sell a lot more when you engage with the buyer." Listing items on iOffer is free. Final value fees are levied on a sliding scale but are significantly lower than eBay's, Boyce said. Also a plus for former eBayers: Sellers can transfer their eBay feedback scores to iOffer. "They're not starting from zero," Boyce said. Another iOffer feature allows users to trade items. "With the recession, people don't have as much free cash lying around, so swapping has become more popular," he said. iOffer has accumulated 75,000 sellers and nearly 1 million total users since its 2002 launch. Another auction site, Chicago-based uBid, targets bulk sellers liquidating excess inventory. Its 7,000 participants include Sony (SNE), Motorola (MOT, Fortune 500) and Dell (DELL, Fortune 500). All sellers submit to a 10-point financial exam to ensure they're qualified to do business on the site: "That's part of our stringent anti-fraud stance," said uBid CEO Jeff Hoffman. However, uBid is not a viable alternative for eBay vendors who aim to sell products at or close to retail price. Most uBid auctions start at $1 and carry no reserve price. "If your eBay store is the way you feed your family, you sell for profit," Hoffman said. "Ubid is for asset recovery on products that aren't selling at retail." On the other hand, the auction site Bidville, which uBid purchased in 2006, does focus on what Hoffman calls "consumer-to-consumer" sales - the market eBay now dominates. Listing an item is free, and final value fees start at 5% for items under $25. For items that sell for $1,000 or more, sellers pay a flat $25 fee plus 1% of the amount over $1,000.

FEEDBACK CHANGES! SELLER GROUP FOR SHARING/BARRING BAD BUYER ID's

Seems like a simple idea for starting to counter what is clearly going to be a raft of changes that are a charter for bad and unscroupulous buyers to hold all genuine sellers to ransom! Genuine sellers start and join a group where they publicise the names of any buyers who misuse the feedback system and those buyers are all added to a 'blocked' list. Member sellers could publicly display there membership of this group in their listings. Just a thought. One things for sure, there will be a whole load of deadbead buyers thinking this is the best idea ebays ever had and they will be using as carte-blanche to do whatever the hell they want including re-negotiating prices after auctions have ended! After all, what can honest sellers do to protect themselves? not a damn thing.

Wrote to my TV station

Dear newstip@wnep.com WNEP TV, I watch the Scranton Wilkes-Barre station everyday. I thought by now you would have covered a story on the recent eBay changes that will affect all sellers on eBay. The sellers are outraged at the dramatic increase in fees, eBay dresses up the announcement as a favor and reward for sellers with lowered listing fees and free gallery pictures, at first most people did not read the fine print, or any further than that. Read further and see eBay raised the final value fees dramatically. Many of the sellers are moving to other venues on the internet to sell, including myself. The other huge issue is that sellers won't be able to leave feedback for buyers. This is where professional news people like yourself will need to investigate and put this into a story. I just can't seem to describe the insanity. Please look at the eBay community Front Porch and Soapbox forum posts Link Link and try to understand what is going on and make a story about it. Almost everyone has dealt with eBay in one way or another in our viewing area and many of us have been selling and buying on eBay for years. I don't think this was a smart move. I really don't understand big business, but there must be a motive other than improving things for eBay members. I suggest you do a google with these 3 keywords ... eBay fees feedback . I am sure that you will see this is big news. I'll be watching!

Does Ebay Care About Sellers ?

It just hit me that Ebay really doesn't care about its sellers. They value the buyers twice as much as they do sellers. The new feedback changes only benefits buyers. I've been selling on Ebay since 1999. I've recommended Ebay to over 1,000 people thru the years. Almost all are now Ebay members. The double stomach punch by Ebay to raise the final value fees and to disallow negative feedbacks to thieving and lying buyers is too much to take. The buyers do not pay any monies to Ebay. Even their Paypal accounts are not charged like we sellers Paypal accounts are charged. We sellers pay list fees, upgrade fees, picture fees, final value fees, and Paypal fees. The buyers pay no fees. Infreakingcredible ! How can Ebay even claim this as being fair to its sellers ? Every seller knows that we basically handle the entire transaction on every sale. Ebay is just a vehichle to get the items to the buyers. And their fees and feedback policy was pretty fair in the beginning but has steadily gravitated to favor only the buyers. I honestly should have a 100% positive feedback rating with no negatives. I have 7 negatives, all from lying buyers. I hope someone at Ebay is reading all the blogs from its sellers. We love Ebay but cannot be treated unfairly. Ebay is a multi-billion dollar company that can survive without the increased final value fees. But its sellers, many whom make a living off Ebay, cannot absorb the increased fees. This is not a personal vendetta from we sellers but just to let Ebay know that we are aware of the forthcoming troubles these newly implemented changes will have on all Ebay users.

HOW MANY WAYS CAN DEADBEAT BUYERS ABUSE THIS NEW SYSTEM?

Well, lets see if we can count the ways???? 1/ Non payers needn't fear negative feedback! 2/ Competitors can damage your feedback rating 3/ Buyers can re-negotiate after the sale ends with threats of negative feedback Who wans to add to this?

Has any one had this offer?

I got an email last night and the person is wanting to buy my ebay account and all my feedback, supposedly the then resell them to other companies that want to sell on ebay but need a high feedback rating to get the products out there. Has anyone heard of this?

Buyer Education Regarding DSR policy

I would just like to know if eBay intends to educate buyers about DSR policies before allowing them to ruin a sellers rating? Will buyers be informed about EXACTLY what a fair handling charge would include and how much they should expect to be charged? For example: some years ago I ordered a Turbo Lister CD from ebay. I was charged $5 for shipping, but the postage was .65 cents. Will buyers be given criteria before they rate a seller. Will buyers be informed that a seller cannot deliver a book from Pa to Ca in a day or two if the buyer chooses to pay for Media Mail? Will they be informed that they should check the date on the postage to determine if the seller posted the item in a reasonable amount of time? Or will a buyer simply get to decide these issues for themselves? My DSRs are great, but shipping time and costs are 4.5 and 4.6 even though I rarely charge more than $2 handling and often refund excessive overcharges. And most often I post items with a few days unless a holiday or weekend is involved. I always post my shipping charges, except for International sales. I've been beaten really bad on Exports so I am very careful about those charges. Will buyers be informed that if postage costs are listed and they buy an item they should not be able to give a bad rating for postage costs? I want to know if ebay plans to educate buyers and enforce some kind of standards on buyer ratings of sellers.

FEEDBACK! Wait until next year! THE NEW SYSTEM

Hi What a great idea, lets not give buyers feedback! I do about 6000 transactions a year, and have received 3 negatives this year! Next year it will be 50 or more. I am sure everyone gets threats on a weekly basis, well those will become negatives. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS! After everyone has enough negatives, eBay as a community will become a Turkish Bazaar and no one will be buying here because we will look like sleeze! THEN the genius who thought up this change will be leaving eBay... and eBay will, I assure you, roll out a new system that will wipe out this years horror. Either that, or it will be time to sell your eBay stock! As is the case in most American business, no one knows when it has WON and leave success alone! Too bad, this is a great community.

New feedback policy,,,it is just WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was sitting in my living room thinking about haw I had finally become a success at my childhood dream. I believe I was only in the 4th grade when I knew that one day I wanted to own and operate my own business. It took many years and heartaches for that to happen. But yes, it finally came true for me. And the instrument of my success was another man

Perfect Example of What Will Happen re feedback

I prepackage all my items and try to ship everthing priority. I state in all my auctions buyer to pay priority shipping when that is the case. After a bidder won my auction the other day she asked me to ship first class instead of priority. I have 100% feedback right now. Do you thing this buyer would have left me good feedback if I had not accommodated her if the new feedback system was in effect. No way and my 100% feedback will be ruined for no fault of mine. THIS IS NOT RIGHT EBAY.

WHY WOULD A SELLER LEAVE ANY FEEDBACK AT ALL?

How about you? Are you actually going to be involved in a feedback system where you have 1 choice? All buyers deserve only positive feedback. All sellers deserve to be scrutinized by every buyer with a positive, neutral or negative, depending on whatever reason the buyer decides is warranted, then the buyer also has the ability to further scrutinize the seller with the 4 tier "Star Rating" system. Does this sound fair to anybody?

EBAY POLICY CHANGES

The best and only way to fight these changes at ebay, unfair feedback rules and price gouging is to go to ONLINEAUCTION.COM or ECRATER and open an account and start listing items, eventually the merchandise will slowly change to these sites and the buyers will come. This process will take a while but if you are sick and tired of the price gouging, non responsive and uneducated ebay employees this is the only way to make a change happen. I will honor the week long boycott as well. I sent email's to bill cobb and suggest@ebay but received a canned answer back as is the case any time you deal with ebay. I have sold on ebay for 9 years through three ID's and have seen the decline over the years on the way ebay treats their sellers, rude employees, uneducated employees, price increases, decrease in service and nonresponsive to even get an explanation on several issues. They have had a vitual monopoly on the online auctions for long enough and it is time to STAND UP, Be a MAN and make a change. So open your accounts at onlineauction.com or Ecrater, start doing some businees with them, slowly wean yourself off of Ebay and prosper.

Just recived a retalitory neg from seller

I have found One of those sellers that have ruined eBay. He sells china fake merchandise scamming people of there hard earned money. He list items for .99 then hides cost in high shipping. That is non refundable. Then when buyer gives him a neg he retaliates with neg back.

the

THIS DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE THE NEW CHANGES IN FEES THE TRUTH IS ... THE NEW FEEDBACK CHANGES WILL ACCOMPLISH ONE OF THREE THINGS.... HOSTILE SELLERS.. OR . SELLERS WHO WILL SELL CARELESSLY WITHOUT REGARD -COLLECT THEIR MONEY UNTIL THEY GET BOOTED FROM EBAY... OR ALL THAT WILL BE LEFT ON EBAY WILL BE THE SAME OLE SELLERS -SELLING THE SAME MERCHANDISE AT HIGHER PRICES TO BE ABLE TO STAY WITH EBAY... IF NO CHANGES ARE MADE... I COULDN'T CARE LESS IF I GET FEEDBACKED RIGHT OFF EBAY AT THIS POINT... BUT I'M NOT GOING TO WASTE MY MONEY POSTING ANYTHING... IT ISN'T JUST THE SMALL SELLERS THAT LOOSE OUT .. IT WILL ALSO BE THE BUYERS AND EBAY THAT WILL TAKE THE BIGGER LOSS... THE SELLERS THAT LEAVE EBAY HAVE ALTERNATIVES ... THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEPLACE ELSE TO GO.. EVEN IF IT TAKES A LITTLE TIME TO BUILD IT UP... I'VE HAD SOME GREAT CUSTOMERS- BUT I CHECKED MY FEEDBACKS - AND NOTICED THAT ALOT OF GOOD PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN WITH EBAY FOR ALONG TIME - ARE NO LONGER REGISTERED USERS... GUESS THEY TOSSED THE TOWEL IN.. THERE ISN'T MUCH VARIETY ANYMORE ON EBAY... AND SELLERS I'VE DEALT WITH ... ARE GONE TOO... I CAN ALMOST HEAR THE ECHO IN THE EMPTY HALLS OF EBAY...

NEW FEEDBACK POLICY - LEAVE FEEDBACK FOR EBAY HERE

As everyone who sells on Ebay knows by now, they will be implenting a new feedback policy later this month. Sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers who screwed them in one form or another. Well Ebay, here is one for you: I am leaving you a BIG NEGATIVE FEEDBACK for your ridiculous new policies. I am done here and will move to other venues. Anyone else interested in leaving NEGATIVE FEEDBACK here, please do so.

FEEDBACK IDEA - feedback escrow

as an avid ebay buyer, i actually really LIKE the idea of an ammended feedback system. whether you agree or not with the new proposal, there IS a genuine problem that makes ALL FEEDBACK much less valuable to everybody. if i can't leave a bad feedback for a bad experience because i know i will be titfortatted, that's horrible. i am WHOLEHEARTEDLY IN FAVOR of taking away a seller's ability to RETALIATE! that is NOT what the feedbacks are for. it's for honestly portraying a buyer or seller's behavior. my solution: ---------------------------------------------------------- FEEDBACK ESCROW - both parties enter their feedback and NEITHER is revealed to any party or the public until BOTH are submitted. this way, there is no possibility of retaliatory feedback. you simply ping in on how the other party behaved. and if you had a good experience with them but they had a bad experience with you, tough. ---------------------------------------------------------- cuz seriously, the system now where everyone is held back by feedback retaliation and that keeps most people at 99% positive feedback is not only dumb, it's not helpful to anybody. so how about it? escrow! jin

Changed my home page

For almost 10 years, I come down in the morning and start up the PC. My home page was Item's I'm selling on eBay. This will be strange, but this is not my home page anymore. This will probably be my last forum post. Thank you to all my good customers over the years, and thanks to the good sellers I bought from. A weird sort of thank you goes out to Meg Whitman and John Donahoe for that final stick that broke the camels back. That pushed me to make the decision to open shop elsewhere.

Perfect example of what is wrong with ebay..

Take a look at this user (gemabey) total score -5 1 positive feedback 21 NEGATIVES! for non payment A perfect example of why ebay has gone to he88 they allow this type of activity to continue..and you can bet, ebay collected fees' for each one of those auctions they did not pay on.. im sorry, but that was allowed to go way to far..before action was taken.. and at least 6 different sellers were affected by this joker.. it would be interesting if we could do a search for similar accounts..bet there would be a LOT of them..

POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR FEEDBACK DEBACLE

If Ebays new feedback system had a 14 day waiting period before a buyer could leave negative feedback instead of 3 days(give me a break, even priority shipping takes 3-5 days), I think it would encourage many buyers to try and work something out with their seller before "pulling the trigger". Most negative feedback is left in the heat of the moment, before the person has had a chance to calm down and think about things rationally. Don't get me wrong, I am DEAD AGAINST this new feedback policy, it is ridiculous. I don't know what in the world ebay is thinking. I won't even bring up the new FVFs. I wonder how they decided upon 3 days after the transaction, the buyer can leave negative feedback. If you shipped an item 10 minutes after you got a payment it still wouldn't get there in 3 days more than 50% of the time.... And the impatient newbies I deal with so much will now be able to trash me when the package doesn't magically appear in their mailbox exactly when they want it to arrive (example-"please make sure you send this item today(Wed night), I need to wear it to a party on Friday) I wonder if any of the corporate ebay people have ever sold an item on ebay in their life? They seem SOOO completely out of touch with their sellers it's shocking. This all just makes me sad

GOOGLE needs an auction site now

Google is the biggest search engine around. They get more hits in a minute than Ebay gets in a week. They have the money. All they have to do is set up site in auction format with smaller fees and with their advertising all they'd have to do is stick a simple link right there in the top search bar and they could literally destroy Ebay within a month. They've got the attention of everyone. If they just put the link there and set it up, they've got all the business of their search engine users right there. Imagine everyone who uses Google to search for anything seeing an auction link. They'd have it. All they have to do is build it. And with Ebay sticking it to their customers now and driving so many of them away, this would be the best time to snatch them all up. All they have to do is build it and millions of dollars in profit right there for the taking.

I think i will concentrate to sell to my customers outside ebay ....... and cut my listings by 50% that's all what deserve Ebay because as an honest seller, i NEVER have a break from Ebay. Paypal holding payments to sellers til a buyer posts positive feedback?

Are you kidding me??? Read the changes. It says paypal can hold a payment to a seller until a) the buyer posts positive feedback or b) if no claim is filed in 21 days. And raising our fees (yes, I built a spreadsheet and calculated current charges and charges after 2/20). We have had buyers REFUSE to pay our at-cost shipping, or demand refunds without returning product, yet we have no recourse with feedback. I thought TRADE meant fair practices to everyone. As I have told my brother for years...ebay is Buyer-Centric. We are looking to sell elsewhere. We pay almost $40,000 a year to sell on ebay and this is the crap we have to deal with. Changes needed for eBay and PayPal

I've been an eBay member since 1998. I have 2 big problems: 1. I got ripped off twice by sellers. Since I paid with PayPal balance, eBay will not step in and help. PayPal will do nothing except forward my e-mails to the seller. 2. EBay fees are getting too expensive. It looks like the eBay executives want the big paydays. I also noticed that new eBay auction listings are on a decline. I hate to leave eBay, but some things have to change.

Paypal

I was wondering if anyone can lend me any suggestions on how to get problems resolved with Paypal and Ebay. I can only compare them to a dysfunctional family that although related, never speak to one another. At any rate I had my account limited and I changed everything over on ebay including my e-mail account. I did the same for paypal and then I clicked the button so they could call and confirm that I was the actual owner of the account. I waited for an hour and received nothing and so I had to leave for a parent teacher conference with my son. When I returned I found that I would now have to wait for a letter with a six digit code to get my account no longer limited. This would not b bad if I had not won ten items the same day and had 4 to ship. One of the items happened to be $80.00 alone. I contacted all my sellers an they were nice enough to give me a few days. Luckily for me a few days, actually turned into 15. In the mean time I had to take the money from my personal; account to pay for the shipping instead of coming out of paypal, like I had intended. I paid for the items so that I would not get negative feedback for not shipping in time. This of course drained my account and when it was over, I had $300.00 in fees I had to pay to my bank. I wrote my sellers almost daily trying to explain the problem. Many were rude and did not believe what I was telling them. At any rate, I paid my fees to the bank and on Monday I once again paid for all the items out of my personal account versus my paypal account. It seems that none have left am negative feedback yet, but they were not happy. Finally, yesterday I receive the mail from paypal with the six digit code. I input the information and the next message I receive is that it will be 3 more business days before I can have the code confirmed. i call Paypal and complain and finally they restore everything. I take a deep breath and go along my way hoping my problems of not being able to pay are over. Well, my problems of paying have ended and I can now pay for items I purchased. The new problem is that I cannot collect money for the items that are purchased from me. Seems that there is now a mix up with my e-mails from changing all my information. The money from buyers happens to be in limbo somewhere. I called paypal, I could not get a number for an ebay representative! I talked with a representative and all I heard was "I am sorry." I finally talked to a supervisor and she seemed to get everything straight. I explained that I have items that have to go out because the buyers need them now for Christmas. I had to contact buyers once again and have them cancel their payments, so I could bill them a second time. They canceled their payments a second time and since I have sold four more items. Guess what, the problem is still not fixed. The buyer pays but I can not get the money and ebay does not recognize the fact they have paid. Did I forget to mention the fact that i called paypal on Friday the day after Thanksgiving like I promised my sellers I would, and I all I got was a recording telling me to call during normal operation hours. I called in the early afternoon, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 'o clock. I guess i should have known that although ebay never shuts down Paypal does and everybody is out. Try explaining that to angry sellers. So here I sit, wondering what to do about my problem. I have six items buyers have purchased and I cannot get the money. I am not sure who to call because I have already spent hours on the phone with representatives and supervisors. So if anyone on ebay knows what i should do next, i certainly would appreciate it, because no one at paypal does! One more thing, How did I land in this mess. Some nice third party took over my accounts without me knowing. It is not a nice feeling to be in such a shape and you did nothing wrong but you are the only one to feel the stress and aggravation from it all. Please let me know if anyone out there knows how I should proceed. Thanks, theodore540
