Reduced s Insertion Fees - Higher Cost for Sellers

okay has done it again. Putting the screws to all of us small sellers, by delivering yet another fee increase. This one is couched in terms like - "You asked, We listened. We're reducing insertion fees and adjusting final value fees to lower your up front cost to sell on okay."
Decreased Fees Are No Gift For Sellers
Hidden in the fine print is a dramtatic FINAL VALUE FEE INCREASE.
Here's the scoop. Insertion fees do go down across the board, by a whopping nickel per listing in the first few tiers. We also get a great new gift from okay - Free gallery images with all listings, store, fixed price, and regular. Remember they gave these to us free before Christmas - Evidently, it did not encourage every one to jump on the band wagon once they began charging for them again. Now they are given to us, like the Trojan Horse from Greek Lore.
The truth is: Most items sold on okay sell for under $25.00. Fees went down - 5 cents at the .01 to $24.99 level. Plus you get free gallery. On the opposite side, FINAL VALUE FEES SKYROCKETED to 8.75% from 5%. That means - If your item sells for $20.00 you now owe okay $1.75 in final value fees, instead of $1.00 under the old fee schedule. That's a 75 cent increase, 45 cents if you eliminate the free gallery image, and th nickel you saved listing your auction.
"You asked, we listened. We lied!!! Sure my up front cost went down, but I took I took it really hard in the back end on this deal.
Don't get me wrong. okay has the right to raise prices. But, not to mislead everyone, by making us think they are doing everyone a favor. Not!
These new fees start February 20. Be sure to read the email in your inbox today, and be aware of the higher costs of doing buiness on okay.
